Biography  

Daan Faudet was born in 1982 in Pithiviers (France) and lived his first three years in Tours. When he was three he moved to the Netherlands. While visiting his grandparents in France, he would rummage the comic shops for days, and in the morning he’d sit pop-eyed in front of the TV-screen watching animated cartoons. Twenty years later he still frequently seen in comic shops in France with thick prescription spectacles. 

During his study at the Willem de Kooning Academy, he has specialized in character animation. In first instance he learned traditional hand-drawn animation on paper and later he learned different digital techniques and programs. He works regularly with programs like; Flash, Photoshop, After Effects, TV Paint and Anime Studio Pro. In addition to the digital techniques he has also experimented with other traditional techniques, such as oil on glass, cut-out and Claymation.

During and after his study he has worked on multiple productions. He animated on the internationally acclaimed award-winning film ‘Paultje en de Draak’( ‘Paul and the Dragon’) and ‘Reis door de stad’(Travel through town). He also worked on animated television series ‘Woezel & Pip’ and ‘De Grobbebollen maken lol’. Between Commissioned work he is actively realizing his personal short films and other projects.
